Pizza Anyone? Yes, Please!

October is National Pizza Month. A full 31 days to celebrate and savor the endless flavors and styles of pizza from around the world.

How it Started

National Pizza Month honors one of America's favorite foods — pizza. The tradition began thanks to Gerry Durnell.

Durnell ran a pizzeria in Santa Claus, Indiana, and noticed there were no trade publications dedicated to the pizza industry. To address this, he launched Pizza Today magazine. When the first issue debuted in October 1984, he marked the occasion by declaring October as "National Pizza Month."
